What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a skin renewal procedure in which a cosmetologist applies a solution of natural acids to remove the upper layers of skin and eliminate dead cells. The new skin that appears after the procedure is smoother and younger-looking, offering an improved appearance in a short time (results are visible after about a week) and without surgery.

Most peels are based on retinol (a vitamin A derivative), phenol and/or alpha-hydroxy acids, though there are different types of formulations.

Where and how to apply a chemical peel

Different types of chemical peels are used to treat age-related wrinkles, pigmentation caused by aging, correct the effects of using poor-quality cosmetics, and remove scars (e.g. post-acne) — usually on the face, and the procedure only takes a few minutes. Only a professional can recommend the right peel for each case.

A chemical peel can also be applied to the neck or other areas to remove old layers of skin and stimulate collagen production. The peel can be performed alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as laser treatments.

Peels can be performed at different depths — superficial, medium, or deep — depending on skin sensitivity and the desired result. Each type of peel uses a unique chemical composition and combination of acids (retinol oil, glycolic acid, amino acids, etc.).

Superficial, less aggressive peels are ideal for mild age-related changes, while deep peels give more pronounced results but require a longer recovery time.

What peels does Top Dermal offer?

Top Dermal offers a wide range of facial peels. We only supply new, original, and authentic products that take care of your skin's health.

In our online store you'll find peels from well-known brands, such as PRX-T33, Mediderma, and BioRePeelCl3.

Most of these chemical peels help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, fight acne, breakouts, pigmentation, redness, and generally make the skin healthier. To brighten the skin, we recommend glycolic peels, and for acne-prone skin, salicylic acid is ideal.

Choosing the right peel depends primarily on the patient's skin type, as well as skin preparation, degree of sun exposure, and expectations.

After the procedure, you can expect hydrated, soft, and supple skin, smoothing of wrinkles and scars, and reduced pigmentation.

What is a TCA peel?

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel is a non-invasive procedure for treating pigmentation, scars, and wrinkles. TCA stands for trichloroacetic acid, which helps remove dead skin cells and reveals healthier, smoother skin layers underneath. TCA belongs to the chemical peel family, composed of a blend of non-toxic acids that exfoliate the skin.

What is BioRePeelCl3 peel for face and body?

BioRePeelCl3 is an innovative peel that delivers the same stimulating and repairing effects as biorevitalization, but without injections. Its biphasic technology and unique blend of active ingredients allowed CMed Aesthetics to patent the product.

The main ingredients of BioRePeel CL3 are poly-, beta-, and alpha-hydroxy acids, and to prepare the skin, you can use a lactic acid-based solution (e.g. PRX P).

The product consists of a lipophilic blue phase and a hydrophilic yellow phase.

When TCA contacts the skin, it triggers protein denaturation in the stratum corneum and activates the SSRS (Skin Stress Response System) — the skin's protective system against acid stress.

What is a biorevitalizing peel?

PRX-T33 also works on the principle of biorevitalization and contains TCA. It stimulates skin regeneration but without physically exfoliating the epidermis.

It helps enhance skin radiance and glow, correct imperfections, and reduce stretch marks.

This biorevitalizing peel is ideal for patients who want the effect of a TCA peel without its possible side reactions, while enjoying a skin-densifying effect.
