  1. Avoid exposure to the sun, particularly during the most intense hours of sunlight that are usually from 10.00h am to 4.00h pm, when UV rays are strongest.
  2. Avoid areas and/or zones that reflect light, such as water, sand, snow, and areas painted white.
  3. Remember that the higher the altitude, the faster your skin burns from sun exposure and the more attention you will need to pay to protective measures. The main reason is that the atmosphere is thinner and less dense compared to sea level and at high altitude more UV rays reach the earth’s surface.

  1. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Look for loose, unbleached, tightly woven fabrics. The denser the fabric, the more protection the garment will provide. You can combine a dense fabric without compromising transpiration. 
  2. A wide-brimmed hat that can shade the entire face from the sun. A baseball cap or visor does not protect the ears or sides of the face, so it is not really useful for protecting from the sun.
  3. Sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays.
